In order to quickly and reliably process payments for you and ensure you are being protected from risk, our payments processor will need to verify the information provided about the payment. The information they are looking for includes:
The service address. This is the location where the work was done, which may not always be the same as the client’s home or business address. We use this to connect the payment to a physical location, which helps us verify the payment’s validity. Joist provides a Service Address option in the Client section of your estimates and invoices where you can provide this information.
The name of the payer. Typically the person who is being invoiced will be the person making the payment, but this is not always the case. If we see a mismatch here, we will do our best to investigate this internally and make the connection as to why another person has paid. If the connection isn’t clear, we may need to reach out to you for further clarification.
A clear description of the work that was done. We look for this in the Line Items section of your estimate or invoice. Every job is different and we’re not looking for a breakdown of all materials and hours, but if, for example, the only description on a $3,000 invoice is a line item reading “work done”, we may need to reach out for a little more clarification there.
