Getting paid through Joist Payments with PayPal is easy. Once you've signed up for your PayPal Business Account and enabled automatic deposits, it's as simple as flicking a switch.
Set up your PayPal Business Account
First things first, if you haven't already, make sure you've completed the one-time sign up process, including connecting your bank account. More on all that in our handy guide here:

Enable automatic bank deposits
By default, your PayPal Business account gives you instant access to your funds through your PayPal account balance. Many retailers and service providers accept payments through PayPal, making this a convenient option for some.

Request your Payment
Now any time you want to collect a payment using Joist Payments, just make sure the option to Accept Credit Cards and PayPal is enabled on the estimate or invoice you'll be sending to your client.
Then just send the estimate or invoice to your client. Whether they open it on their mobile device or computer, they will have the option to pay you by credit card, debit card and PayPal right there on the screen.
Here's how that will look for your client on a computer, with the estimate or invoice on the right and the payment options on the left.
Notice how your client has the option to pay either by PayPal (if they have a PayPal account) or using their Debit or Credit Card.
Note, your client does not need a PayPal account to pay you. This is simply one more option available to them. Clients without a PayPal account, or who would prefer not to use their PayPal account for this payment, can choose the Debit or Credit Card option instead.

Once either the Credit Card, Debit or PayPal payment is complete, your client will be returned to the invoice or estimate screen where the total on the document will be updated to reflect what they have paid.
You'll get an email from PayPal letting you know when your client has paid, how much they paid and which method of payment they used.
Note that once auto-deposits are enabled on your account, payments will typically take 2 business days to arrive in your bank account.
