Pro Subscription "auto renew"
I'm pretty aggravated right now. For months, Joist has been pushing the Pro subscription. My business is small, volume is low, I don't need most of the Pro features (but they're doing their best to make it useless without Pro). I've been considering it still, but I think Joist just made up my mind for me by automatically charging me on Nov 1. I have no idea why it chose that day, I've been using Joist for about 5 years.
Automatically "renewing" a subscription I HAVE NEVER AGREED TO is absolute nonsense, and essentially theft. Full stop. I never checked my "subscription page" to see the renewal message BECAUSE I NEVER SUBSCRIBED. And of course Joist didn't go out of their way to notify me. This is exactly what they were hoping would happen.
Like I said, I was still considering Pro, so doing the lazy thing and just accepting the charge crossed my mind. But forget that, I'm going to seek a refund just on principal. I'm sure I won't get anything back, but I'll be using something other than Joist from now on either way. Great job, guys. You got your $120, and chased off one of your longest users.

Hey Drew, we would be glad to look into this in more detail if you reach out to us at hello@joist.com
I just want you to know that there's no way for us to bill you unless you enter your credit card information. We don't bill people without their consent as that would completely undermine our company's mission.Look forward to hearing back from you through e-mail at hello@joist.com so we can discuss this in more detail.
