With Joist Payments with Stripe, you have the option to receive your money in minutes, not days!

How to Initiate an Instant Payout with Stripe

  1. Log into the Stripe Dashboard and go to the Payouts tab of the Balances page

  2. Click Pay out funds instantly

  3. Enter an amount to pay out

  4. Select the debit card or bank account where you want the funds to go. If you do not have an eligible account, enter new Visa debit card / Mastercard debit card, or bank account details.

  5. Tap the Pay out button to complete your Instant Payout. Funds will appear in the associated bank account within 30 minutes.

Important Information

Initiating an instant payout does not bypass the initial seven-day waiting period for your first payout with Stripe.

Instant Payouts lets you transfer your available Stripe balance to an eligible debit card or bank account in as little as 30 minutes, any time of day, including weekends and holidays.

How much does it cost?

There is a 1.5% fee per Instant Payout (e.g. a $1,000 payout would incur a $15 fee).

Standard payouts (1 to 2 business days for card payments) remain free.

Am I eligible?

Instant Payout eligibility and payout limits are determined by Stripe based on factors like your account history, payment volume, and risk profile. Joist does not control or set these thresholds.

How do I use Instant Payouts?

Once a payment is completed and funds are available in your Stripe balance, you can initiate an Instant Payout directly from your Stripe dashboard.

When should I use it?

Instant Payouts are ideal when you need fast access to cash, such as after completing a job and needing funds for materials, payroll, or unexpected expenses.
