Nothing makes a job go smoother than ensuring you and your client are on the same page. Adding a contract to your estimate or invoice is an easy way to communicate your terms and conditions, warranty information and much more.
Here's how you can use the Custom Contracts feature in Joist. Use the links to jump to instructions for:
iOS
Step 1: While creating an estimate or invoice, scroll down and tap Contract.
Step 2: Tap Remove Current Contract
Step 3: Tap Contract again to add a new contract
Step 4: Tap New Contract
Step 5: Give your contract a name and then type or copy/paste contents from an existing document and Tap Done. This contract is now saved to your Joist Account for future use.
Step 6: Select the contract to add it to your estimate or invoice
Note that contracts in Joist are plain text and do not support rich text features like bold, italics, underline, colours or images.
Android
Step 1: While creating an estimate or invoice, scroll down and tap on Contract.
Step 2: Tap the three dots in the top right-hand corner
Step 3: Tap Remove Contract
Step 4: Tap Contract
Step 5: Tap the Green Circle on the bottom right corner
Step 6: Give your contract a name and then type or copy/paste contents from an existing document and Tap the Checkmark. The contract will be added to your estimate or invoice.

Step 1: While creating an estimate or invoice, scroll down to the Contract section and click Generic Contract
Step 3: Click Remove Contract
Step 4: Click Add Contract
Step 5: Click New Contract
Step 6: Give your contract a name and then type or paste contents from an existing document and Click Save. The contract will be added to your estimate or invoice.
