Currently, Joist is designed for one company per account. But there is no limit to the number of accounts you can have in Joist.
To manage multiple companies using Joist, simply setup a new account for each company. Each account will need to signed up with its own unique email address.
If you have any feedback about improvements we could make to better support multiple company accounts in Joist, we would love hear from you. Please click here to share your feedback.
Switching Accounts
When you want to switch company accounts, you can simply log out of the app and then sign back into the app using the email + password for the company account you wish to use.
Saving your different login emails + passwords to your phone or computer can help to speed up this process, so you don't have to type in your password manually every time.
Subscription Management
If you use multiple company accounts with Joist, keep in mind that you will need to maintain separate paid subscriptions for each account.
Joist Payments
You can take online payments with each of your company accounts, but each account will have to go through the signup process for Joist Payments separately. Make sure to provide specific, accurate company information for each account that you sign up for Joist Payments.
Copying Information from one account to another
If you have a common list of items or clients that you want to use with each of your company accounts, you can use the export feature in the Web version of Joist (on your laptop/desktop computer) to download a list of your items or clients. You can then upload this list to a different company account, using the import feature.
Troubleshooting
Since Joist is designed for single-company use, you may run into technical issues in some rare cases when using multiple company accounts on the same device. In general, reinstalling the app should help to resolve any technical issues encountered when switching between company accounts on the same device.
