Project Templates

Are you using the same line items, photos, etc. over and over again? Create a Project Template to save yourself time on routine estimates & invoices and get them issued to your clients faster! They'll be amazed when you can put together a standard estimate in seconds, right in front of them.

iOS

To create a Project Template for future use, you can make a new estimate/invoice and add the information you want or simply choose one of your pre-existing estimates/invoices.

Once you have your estimate/invoice finalized and saved, tap on More > Create Template.

Give your template a brief but memorable name that describes its intended use, do a quick review and make any adjustments if necessary, and then tap Done to save it to your list of templates.

When you want to use a saved Project Template, simply go to your list of estimates or invoices, tap the + button in the top-right and select the Choose document template option.

You can also view, edit & manage all of your saved templates by going to More > Settings > Documents > Manage Templates. Tap the Invoices or Estimates buttons at the top of the screen to switch between your lists of saved templates. Then simply tap on any of the individual saved templates from the lists to view and edit. Tap the 3 dots in the top-right corner to delete templates.

Android

To create a Project Template for future use, you can make a new estimate/invoice and add the information you want or simply choose one of your pre-existing estimates/invoices.

When you want to use a saved Project Template, simply go to your list of estimates or invoices, tap the green circle in the bottom-right and select the Choose template option.

You can also view, edit & manage all of your saved templates by going to Manage > Doc Settings > Project Templates > Manage Templates. Tap the Invoices or Estimates buttons at the top of the screen to switch between your lists of saved templates. Then simply tap on any of the individual saved templates from the lists to view and edit.

Web

To create a Project Template for future use, you can make a new estimate/invoice and add the information you want or simply choose one of your pre-existing estimates/invoices.

Once you have your estimate/invoice finalized and saved, click the More button to open a menu and select Create Template.

Give your template a brief but memorable name that describes its intended use, do a quick review and make any adjustments if necessary, and then click Save to add it to your list of templates.

When you want to use a saved Project Template, simply go to your list of estimates or list of invoices and click on the Use Template button in the top-right, then select the template you want from the pop-up that appears.

You can also view, edit & manage all of your saved templates by going to Settings > Doc Settings > Project Templates > and then click on the Manage button. Click the Invoice or Estimate buttons to switch between your lists of templates for invoices/estimates. Click on a template to select it for editing, or click the 3 dots in the top-right to delete templates.

Important Note for iOS, Android and Web:

  • Templates created with Sections require a Joist Elite subscription. If you're using the free trial of Joist and create templates with Sections, you can continue using your saved templates with Sections after the trial period by subscribing to Joist Elite.

  • Templates will not save any sensitive information such as client details and payment schedules.
